FAQ

Things we get asked a lot

Q: Who will I be working with? A: You will be working directly with me, Stacy. I personally provide all the support and guidance. Occasionally, my wife Michelle helps behind the scenes with administration, but all your support comes from me.

Q: What experience and qualifications do you have? A: I’m a husband and full-time carer to my older son, diagnosed with autism at age 3 and non-verbal. I’ve spent many years learning from therapists and working with support workers. I hold current Working with Children and Disability Checks, a Police Check, Advanced First Aid certification, and the required NDIS Worker Check to ensure your safety and meet national standards for disability support. I also have all the necessary insurances in place to give you peace of mind.

Q: What is the NDIS Worker Check? A: The NDIS Worker Check is a national background screening to make sure anyone working with NDIS participants is suitable and safe to provide disability support. It helps protect you by confirming that your support worker meets the required standards.

Q: Do you work with specific age groups or types of clients? A: While I support clients of all ages, I especially enjoy working with mature clients who may find it hard to relate to younger support workers. My focus is on helping everyone build independence and confidence to fully engage in community life.

Q: How do you tailor support to individual needs? A: I take the time to understand your unique goals and challenges. Together, we develop skills and confidence at a pace that suits you, always respecting what matters most to you.

Q: Are you the only person providing support? A: Yes! When you choose Adelaide Hills Next Steps Support, you get me personally. I’m hands-on in every part of the support I provide.

Q: What are your availability hours? A: I offer flexible support, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and overnight when needed. I’m here to work around what suits you best.

Q: How do you stay involved with my progress? A: I believe in genuine relationships. I celebrate every small victory with you and adjust our approach as needed to keep supporting your growth.
